I help organisations design and deliver pragmatic data and AI capabilities, acting as an advisor where strategy, engineering, and delivery meet. Over the past year, I have supported IoT and agriculture clients as an independent consultant, forming teams, designing architectures, and reshaping delivery. Prior to this, I was Head of Data at Accenture Next Gen Engineering, where I led the practice and supported senior stakeholders on complex, high-profile programmes.

Accenture Next Gen | Head of Data & AI | Jun 2021 to Jan 2025​

Responsibilities​

  • Led and grew a practice of ~20 data specialists, setting a people-first culture. Responsible for pastoral care, 1:1s, mentorship, and building clear career pathways.
  • Advised senior client stakeholders (inc. NHS) on data strategy, architecture, and delivery methodology to de-risk complex, high-profile programmes.
  • Acted as the senior technical and delivery lead for the practice, providing hands-on leadership to rebuild team morale and stabilise failing projects.
  • Grew the data and GenAI capability by creating standardised training pathways, reusable delivery assets, and go-to-market strategies.

Impacts​

  • Strengthened NHS 111 data governance by leading the migration from Splunk to Databricks. This reduced platform complexity and enhanced auditable controls for sensitive patient data.
  • Led the strategic review of a failing data programme at a large, publicly owned energy operator. My recommendations led to a root-and-branch rebuild of their Agile capability, restoring delivery confidence.
  • Rescued a failing data initiative for a specialist insurer by rebuilding team morale and restoring delivery. Moved the platform from failing to stable, delivering a 10x reduction in analyst time.
  • Delivered a modern data platform (Snowflake/dbt) for a major fashion retailer, cutting analytics production time to hours and improving data quality with automated validation.

Data Strategy Specialist | Enablis | Nov 2025 to Present​

Responsibilities​

  • Create and implement data & AI strategy for iIoT start-up.
  • Build out product focus, ways-of-working, and team shape pragmatically.
  • Assist in the design of a new data model and event-driven architecture for the business, aligned to an IoT Unified Name Space.

Impacts​

  • Moved business focus from analyst work to data products and services, allowing focused delivery of new services.
  • Established a full agile delivery model for the data function, along with recommended team shape and personnel profiles for hiring. Team was able to reduce WiP significantly and provide new products independently.

Independent Data Advisor | US Agriculture | Jan 2025 to Oct 2025​

Responsibilities​

  • Create and implement data & AI strategy for large-scale industrial clients.
  • Act as sole developer and strategic advisor, building PoC systems for data discovery and automated workflows.
  • Develop data collection, curation, and analysis strategies for complex operational environments.

Impacts​

  • Secured and delivered data strategy consulting work with an international crop management company.
  • Designed a new data mastering and analytical approach for a major US Ag client, influencing multi-million dollar management decisions on high-value assets.

Proagrica (RBI) | Snr. Data Scientist | Oct 2016 to Jun 2021​

  • Built the company's first data science function from scratch; establishing all workflows, governance, and best practices.
  • Recruited, trained, and led the new data team, including graduate management and cross-business collaboration.
  • Led the end-to-end data architecture and data science function for key client projects, including geospatial entity resolution and data modelling.
  • Designed and tested new cloud architectures and ETL processes for predictive modelling and large-scale data processing.
  • Created a new external revenue stream by productising the platform's flexible dashboards and APIs.
